TUNE your HOTEL stay....

Last February, I want to go down to Kuching and wonder which hotel I want to stay in. There are few new hotels opened in this city last years (and some more might be open this year or next year). I thought I wanted to try those new hotel so I browse in the net for the info. While I was gazing through the information on one of the 5 stars hotel, I wonder is there any Tune Hotel opened in Kuching?. So I Googled that hotel and found the official site. Walla, they have their hotel in Kuching (what an ancient me, people might already know about this hotel exist in Kuching since the day it's opened :p ). Before this I never had any interest in Tune Hotel because I thought it's just like Air Asia, when you book last minute, you get higher price. I read more about that hotel and found out that it is kind of interesting. Plus the tag line "5-star sleeping experience at a 1-star price" adding more curiosity into myself to try this hotel. We all know that if a hotel is rated 5 stars we will get 5 stars services all the way but how is this Tune Hotel actually worth my stay.
So I make the online booking of a single room (as I'm travelling alone) for two night stay and to my surprise the price per night is just RM45.50! But like Air Asia's ticket price, that's not the final price. In the third step, I was brought to a page where I can choose what I need something they called Addon Purchases, things like  air conditioning, towels+essential toiletries kit and wireless internet access and of course I need the aircond, so I add on another RM42 (RM21 for each 24 hours), that's RM91 + 42= RM 133.
Then they show me how much I have to pay for the stay which includes service charge, service tax and admin fee. For that booking, my total price is RM167.91. I guess it's not bad if the sleeping experience will be like 5 stars

So the next day, I arrived in Kuching and I went straight to the hotel (because my bladder is full hehehe). That hotel is opposite the Kuching Hilton Hotel, just across the road (I was surprise by the way this block has transformed). Then I asked the security guard at the hotel's entrance do they have their own car park (because I drive). He said no they didn't have, but in the internet say got parking? I asked back, he still say, no there's no car park, not even in front here (along the road). I know that's the paid public car park because they're numbered. So I just park my car at one of the empty lot in front of the hotel and went in for check in. The lobby? not bad at all for a budget hotel, they even have their own mini convenience store there. My room is in the 1st floor and number 102, the view? the Hilton :p

When I enter the room, I said, this is not bad for this kind of price, the bed look comfy and the toilet, the same of that you can get in the 3 star or even 4 or 5 stars hotel (in their lowest rate kind of room la :p ) Just one thing about the room, its quiet small but it's worth the price. During my 2 night stay, I found out that this hotel is worth my money as like most of my time traveling I only need hotel's room to sleep, bath and put my things, during the day I will not be in my room.

My Tune Hotel's bed and my messy stuffs

So today is the third time I stay here at Tune Hotel Kuching and I choose to stay in the double room with one queen size bed (the second time I stayed for 4 nights at less than RM400!). Apart from no car park available, it's not a problem for me as I can park in front of the hotel or inside the Hilton's car park (have to pay la of course). I like the room, especially the double room and the essential necessities they provide. For a person like me, I don't really need a sofa, bath tub and etc.. when I went on a trip like this, (as for the toiletries and towel I brought mine myself) unless I go for vacation that's a different story.  All that I have in Tune hotel's room for the price I've paid is worth every penny for a casual trip like this. Sometimes all we need is just a comfy bed and a hot shower (plus the air conditioning for me :p ). Even for backpackers this hotel can provide better comfort plus the convenient of it's surrounding.

Adding to the Tune hotel's comfortableness is the strategic location where it's placed, the Kuching city center. Some major shopping centers are just few minutes walk from this hotel, the Kuching's waterfront is just a 5 minutes walk and many other tourist attractions and craft shops around the area are just within a distance. The night life? Some bars and lounges just along the strip from the Tune hotel, Bistros and eating spots can also be found easily. All can be reached on foot and  to go further than that spot is not big deal, go to the front desk, they will be able to help. Airport transfer also provided and tourist agents are contactable too.

So Tune Hotel is not bad at all, what more could be asked for with that kind of price. It is just another place for a low budget traveler like me who seek the best comforts and conveniences with the most affordable price (book online earlier to get better deals on the price, just like when you book Air Asia's tickets :p ).  I'm hoping that this hotel will be enhance in the near future and I think I would like my  Tune Hotel's room to have tv with Astro channels, I don't mind paying extra RM10 or 20 per night though :p . Next time you plan to go to Kuching, make sure you check the www.tunehotels.com first to add your choices of places to stay :) So see ya...

Confidence = Winning..... It's a hope.....

It's 3.35 in the morning says the clock. I was awake by the feel of dry throat and went downstairs to get something to wet it. Then I turn on the tv and came pop up one of the news channel. The man said "BN yakin rampas kembali kerusi Parlimen Hulu Selangor". I'm not so much into politic kind of things (because nobody have convinced me yet that it's wrong politician=dirty). But hearing that headlines quiet an interesting things to know more. But when I came back to the living room after taking my drink the topic have change. But I still want to know more about that headlines so I turn on my laptop and open one of the online news portal. Luckily there's a news related to that headlines.

But the headlines is quiet different there but still related. There they say "got chance or ada peluang". I don't have to explain why this small election will be held as it was out all over the news. And the ruling government feeling confident of winning that seat which have been won by the oppositions in the last general election (which almost pour a flash flood to the ruling party and Sarawak & Sabah saved them).

In my opinion they feel confident because in the last general elections they've lost with a small defeat (198 majority) and they even might place the same candidate for that small election (although that area only have 19% Indians). But they said he have more experience in that area.

For the records, last year there are few small elections held but BN only won at Batang Ai (correct me if  I'm wrong because I'm not so into politics), again Sarawak save them. The history from when our country was established have shown that Sabah & Sarawak were the two states which makes Malaya possible at that time, meaning that those state's peoples who help to make our country a reality (but still they're labeled "lain-lain or other"). And the history show it once again in the last general elections ( I think most people know what I mean). And when BN won in Batang Ai, again Sarawak's native was defamed & disgraced by peninsular opposition leader with a phrase said "Penduduk di Batang Ai masih pakai CAWAT", though educated people know the phrase was just a metaphor but still it is not appropriate to reflect other people's mind. If they're said to have wear ***** on ***** ***ds, what would they feel?. Of course they will retaliate back.

Enough for the past stories, back to the headlines, well I hope that this time BN will have their confidence transform into winning and if they did they will have to keep all their promises. Adding to their confidence, DPM said they have a lot of "materials" to be used to face the oppositions and in the current situations a lot of people didn't satisfied with the Selangor state government. Well, I really wonder what these "materials" are but I don't thinks it will be revealed or maybe not until the election. And I think a lot of people hoping that this time the "materials" are for real and working.

I guess the result of this election might be giving some big impacts to the General Election (which is next year I think, again correct me if I'm wrong). It will be giving the view of what people really wants and how they want it, regardless BN win or not, people will shows their "opinions". Nowadays, personally I think it is not a contest between who's good, who's not anymore, it is more than that, it might even bigger than that. Like anything else people's mind evolved and towards something that they learned throughout every experiences that they've gone through.  Also, now many of the mind of our people like "upgraded hardisk" where they might have "drag & drop" away old data to the "recycle bin" and ready or have been wrote with new data and plus the new type of "scripting & formatting" which all will determined their output on the "screen". If any of the "programmers" have the most latest, innovative and creative "scripting & formatting" skills plus the ability for them to meet all the "requirements" to run that "hardisks" on their PCs, will win.

Anyway, I just hope that there will be something different from that election. So a very best of lucks.... Hope that 1 Malaysia ideology will play it's biggest roles in that test. After the election then we do the talking and writing again.

UNICEF Direct Debit Donor Programme

Last Sunday ( 21 March ) I went out to tHe spring and I came across a group of people from UNICEF doing their roadshow of their donor programme. I was attracted as it is not cash type of donation. All this while I always think of how can I contribute to something or doing donation in long term without giving big cash one time (because I didn't have a lot of money at one time). So I approached them and they explained every detail of that donation programme. I was attracted because it is mainly to help children all over the world and I said sign me up. So I did.

This donation pledge is not an one-off donation like the usual because UNICEF didn't take any cash for this. It was an easy thing to do, their people will ask for you ID card and help you filled the form and then they have two option of donating, 1. using credit cards and 2. using bank account. And there're two type of contribution 1. every month RM38 or RM58 and 2. Every 6 month RM228 or RM348. Note that this contribution will be charged to your credit card or autodebit  from your bank account and you will be contributing for as long as you're signed up with this programme. UNICEF will give you a car sticker and stick it on your car to show your support. They will also send you a tax-exempt receipt every year.

This is a very very good things to contribute for something meaningful and helping the childrens around the world. We all know there are so many children suffers from poverty, wars, HIV and so on, even in our country there are so many children need help and through UNICEF, we might be able to give hopes to these children. For that small amount, we have surely giving some help to these children such as in medical and education. It not a big amount but the contribution it provides is enormous.  Personally, I felt many people should sign up to something like this. It's might not our children who benefited from this contribution but it gave them a very big, excellent example of what we should do to help other. All those children are the future generation of our world anyway.

The roadshow was over but if any of you are interested to know more details or to sign up and contribute to this donor pledge can contact Mr. Chan Huang Hua at 0168899667

Man, this kids dance the whole routine as the original one and not to mention in sync with the songs and perfectly. He's talented in memorizing all the steps (every single of it i think) but I'm a bit confused... err..... no need to mention la, give it a thought yourselves :p

Program Rakan Alam Sekitar

Friday, 12 March 2010, I was invited to attend the Launching of the Rakan Alam Sekitar’s event and was invited to give a talk as well. It was held for the Lubok Antu parliament area and took place at Rh. Ipang, Ng. Delok, Batang Ai. This program is the initiative taken by the gov through Natural Resources and Environmental Board (NREB) to bring people closer to the awareness of the environmental problems. It was supposed to be attended by all local communities’ leaders and some gov departments and organization also invited.  The YB of Lubok Antu was the one who launched it and Batang Ai’s ADUN also present the night before the launching. From what I saw, the idea was to get the rural community leader such as Tuai Rumah and Penghulu to be involved and they will then spread the information to their community as well as leading them towards the environmentally aware societies. Upon completing this program each and everyone present have been registered as Rakan Alam Sekitar and vowed to protect the environment.  They planned to launch this program state-wide.
I was not aware of this program before until the NREB people contact me for some information about the Batang Ai area whereas they have already launched the program in several places all this while.
For me personally, this is a good program because it targets the local communities to be involved directly in supporting our effort to further taking care of our fragile environment in a wider coverage. We all know how much our environment have suffered from human destruction worldwide. Our earth is now in verge of destruction if we people didn’t play our role in conserving our environment. The biggest fear now is the depleting of the ozone layer. Many factors contributing to this and what we should fear is when the ice in the South and North Pole melt. Watching the Discovery Channel few weeks back, they say if all the ice melt, the possibilities of the world to be submerged underwater is getting high and it can occurred sooner than we thought.

That’s not all; the climate is now starting to change.  Last few weeks the Northern Region of Sarawak like Miri didn’t rain and the weather were so hot plus the haze. Imagine if things like this happen all over the world, we might feel like we’re living in the oven and become roasted chickens.

There are a lot of negatives environmental effects occurred throughout the world because of human uncontrolled activities. We in Sarawak have lost so much of our forest mainly due to logging activities. Without the forest our land will become barren and weather is damn hot. But we’re still lucky we still live in the place surrounded by greens (the forest). But not all people know about the status of our forest (only loggers know well because when there are still a lot of trees they will never stops and then we will hear that area transformed into whatever plantation estate there are).

We, ourselves could start with a very little things like recycling, don’t do open burning, used environmental friendly product and all this can be started in our own household. Though we can’t stop some “big headz” from destroying our environment, we still can play our small roles. Think of how much will it effects our future generations.

RODZ NOCTURNE IN SUPPORT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND CONSERVATION EFFORTS ENCOURAGE ALL PEOPLE TO BE INVOLVED AND BE VERY SUPPORTIVE, OUR EARTH NEED US AND WHO ELSE CAN BE BETTER IN PROTECTING IT IF NOT US. SO MUCH ISSUES THAT WE WORRY ABOUT AND CONCERNED US BUT IF OUR EARTH FAILED TO BE FUNCTIONING AS IT SHOULD, OTHER ISSUES APART FROM THIS WILL NEVER MATTER ANYMORE.

SAVING OUR ENVIRONMENT WILL SAVE OUR EARTH AND SAVING OUR EARTH WILL SAVE ALL HUMAN

Perseverance... a big word in my life

per·se·ver·ance

pronounciation [pur-suh-veer-uh ns]

noun
1.
steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., esp. in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.
2.
Theology. continuance in a state of grace to the end, leading to eternal salvation.
Origin:
1300–50; ME perseveraunce < MF perseverance < L persevÄ“rantia.

per·se·ver·ant, adjective
non·per·se·ver·ance, noun
non·per·se·ver·ant, adjective

1. doggedness, steadfastness. Perseverance, persistence, tenacity, pertinacity imply resolute and unyielding holding on in following a course of action. Perseverance commonly suggests activity maintained in spite of difficulties or steadfast and long-continued application: Endurance and perseverance combined to win in the end. It is regularly used in a favorable sense. Persistence, which may be used in either a favorable or an unfavorable sense, implies unremitting (and sometimes annoying) perseverance: persistence in a belief; persistence in talking when others wish to study. Tenacity, with the original meaning of adhesiveness, as of glue, is a dogged and determined holding on. Whether used literally or figuratively it has favorable implications: a bulldog quality of tenacity; the tenacity of one's memory. Pertinacity, unlike its related word, is used chiefly in an unfavorable sense, that of overinsistent tenacity: the pertinacity of the social climber.
********************************************************************
That's about the words, PERSEVERANCE, yes it is a big words in my life. I guess along the way within my 26 years of life, I persevered a lot and I guess most humans do too. There's so much things that I don't really want or want to do in life but I have to do it or take it. Things were not as what I want and at some point of time I'm broken down by the things that force me to do or to take what I didn't want and that's when I fell like I'm losing control of my life.

Most of the time in my life, I have to make choices and mostly the choices that I have to choose is not what I really want but I have to take it because if I go the other way, I'll have to shift or change my life big time and I don't want that to happen. In the end I choose to swallow it regardless how bitter and painful it is.

Sometimes I have no choice at all, though I have the option of being rebellious and take things my own way which, too, will make me change my life big time. This happen commonly in my works where I have to make decision only between to things, to do it or not, well of course I'll do it no matter how difficult and painful it is because if not I'll put my career and life on the thin line of destruction. Unless I planned to find other job hehehe. Yes! my career have put me into a lot of pain ever since I started. In my 21 years of my life (before I work), I have almost complete control of my own life. Even during my university's times if I felt like I don't want to go to class then I just have to continue to sleep and let time pass me by hehehe (I think not only me hehehe lol). Also if I felt like I'm too lazy to finish my assignment on time I just have to think about the best excuse then go beg my lecturers for a little extension of time and they always granted it :) then I will start to look for my "helpful friends" who always "help" me to "find the easiest way to finish my assignment" hahaha lol. Or sometime I just let things be or sacrifice the most of 10 or 20 marks by not sending my assignment at all or send them late :) and then try so hard to score high for other things and final exams. That's university's life, working life, no way to do that, if it's have to be done, it must be done, if it's must be done by today, it must be done by today (I can't imagine I beg my boss for extension of time, I might become deaf hearing him scolding me or even the next day I will have to write "something special" ).

In the matter of life, also like in working life, perseverance do plays its big role and I don't want to tell stories about what have I persevered in life because too much and too many of them. It might get me angry again or even "re-hate"  some related "people". -To those people who have make my life miserable because they force me to take or do what they want me to, I got 3 words for you, go to hell, you think you can force any people to go your way, you're wrong, you call that's a training, yes it is, you've trained a monster and forever I put the hate unto you-

For whatever it is, that's not a bad words to be used in life (accept for the time when other people try be smart in pressuring you). Life will always put us in the middle of difficulties to decide which way, if we go this way, we have to face the tiger, if we go that way, we have to face the lion, we choose one way and fight our way through and in the end it will be a matter of surviving it or stumble to the ground because we give up the fight. I guess everyday we have to deal with that situation and even in every day's ordinary decision too.
But this words can be so powerful that sometimes can pushed people to go beyond their limits. For example, a small person with minimal height and body size and he want to be in the rugby team and he struggle to be in the regular line up, in the end he became one of the teams assets and one of the best catcher and runner, he contribute a lot of touchdowns (.. I give big salute to this kind of person...).

Well as the saying goes, if life give you a lemon you make lemonade, if life give you a grapes, you make wine and if someone give you a "damn bl**dy s**ts", you say "go to hell and f**k off" hahaha lol. Anyway the main saying is -PERSEVERE IN LIFE-

Strange Attitude

What a strange attitude. I guess this is not necessary, it's enough we just respect each other's interest, don't have to show it off.... Respect other's interest sincerely if really want to, don't be like on the outside only, inside are all fake.... Damn Pretender.....

Plastic Flower & Real Flower

I still remember few month back when me and my staff and some of the teacher from the nearby school having the afternoon drink at one of my staff's house. A lot of topic pop up during our conversation and one thing that I really can't forget is the one about the "flower". Well at first I didn't get what they're trying to talk about because I was not there when the topic starts but after a few seconds I get what they mean.

Well, the debate was between men group and the ladies group. The man said a lot of "flowers" nowadays are plastic and fake. To have a good smell the flower sprayed with perfume and attract a lot of "bugs". The "bugs" fall in love with the "flower" but the "flowers" have different agenda. Because it is plastic so it won't understand the "bugs" feeling, all the "flowers" wants is get the "best" out of the poor "bugs". When the "bugs" know that the "flower's" feeling was also plastic, the "bugs" want to retaliate but because the "flower" is plastic it won't feel the pain of have any feeling. So the "flowers" are the cheater.

But then the ladies reply, not all "flower" are plastic, the "bugs" were the stupid one that could not differentiate between plastic and real "flowers". The "bugs"only attracted to the smell and the look of the "flower" without wanting to get to know the "flower" is fake or real. Even some "bugs" now also plastic (funny coz plastic "bugs" cannot fly to find the "flower" hehehe) not only "flowers". (so we laugh coz plastic "bugs" cannot fly). Real "flower" won't let the "bug" down if the "bug" is really sincere and not only want to suck the nectar and then gone missing leaving the "flower" to suffer. That "bugs" are even worst they might not be plastic but the heart is plastic.

Then the guy replied, "bug" have plastic heart because of after being cheated by the plastic "flower". But all in all "flower" are so sad to be seen. Because they cannot run away when the "bugs" get them. So sad. But if the "flower" can move they will be worst then the "bugs" because not only the will be plastic or fake but they will be able to cheat more on the "bugs" and moving around from one "bug" to the other offering themselves regardless they're plastic or real. But without the "bugs" the "flower" wont live long coz they need "bugs" to water and fertilized them regularly. If not the "flower" will fade or turn to other "bug" hehehe

Then the ladies said whatever.... The guys laugh because the ladies don't want to argue more. But when we were in the middle of talking about other topic (no more "flower" and "bugs) suddenly a guy stand and say " I need to go home now.. because I got my "flower" that need to "watered" and "fertilized" we were stunned for a while then we laugh out loud hahahaha.

Unconsiderate

I remember there's one time when I have to attend to the consultant and contractors whose doing the construction in my workplace. Those 2 days I felt played by those people. First i have to provide transport for them (at first they want to use their's). In my workplace we have to use long wooden boats coz there're no road access, if for those people that respect our limitation they will do something which is considerate. But this people they didn't even think about that. I have to provide them boats to go the construction site because the boat that promise to take them canceled. Then they decided to stay at the resort (approx 45 minutes from my workplace) and requested that we pick and take them back and forth from that resort to the site for that two days. Then they invite me and my staff to stay with them at the resort as they said there going to be a meeting later that night. This is when I felt really stupid to attend to their request. I thought by inviting us they will provide the room in their expenses but the next day when we checked out we have to pay by our own (why didn't they tell us at the first place). Luckily I brought enough cash if not, damn, I have to pay by credit card and hard to claim back. The night before that, after dinner everybody goes back to their room. I wonder when the hell will this meeting be done. I waited at the lobby for a while but still no sign of them to start the meeting. So I went back to my room. After checking out we went to the site for so called site inspection and another damn thing happen. They only talk between themselves on the inspection with the language that half of us present didn't understand. (what the hell kind of site inspection). That adds to my mad nerves and  I leave them do whatever they want, I just don't want to care anymore. I waited at the jetty site together with my coordinator and one of my boss and my staff. Then we went back to my station and most of us are hungry as it already way pass lunch time. My coordinator asked me do I have any instant me. I told him I'll asked my staff to cook for us. Then I saw one of the consultant guy opened a bottle of mineral water (which I supplied to them) and opened a pack of milo and put into the bottle, do a little shake and drink it. One of my staff frankly as him, "lapar ka?". I wanted to laugh but then it get me thinking, why the hell that they didn't packed any food for their own knowing that they will be back late in the afternoon. Considering my boss and my coordinator I asked my staff to cook some food and they did. Then I called them for late lunch and to my surprise all of them are hungry. In my workplace there are no place to eat or to buy food unless bring them your own.

So I was thinking, they gain profit millions every year but small things like that they can't consider and arrange it themselves. When they talk contracts and money they pretty much energize and trying their best to gain as much as they could. But to be a little courteous to little people like me and my staff, way damn far from their mind. What a stupid bunch of people. I just don't understand why they can't be more considerate not to me or my staff but to themselves.....

I'm on the blog :)

I've created my blog space, 1st time & 1st one ever. I'll get to post whatever I want whenever I want  without offending anyone (I hope) hahaha. Anyway, just for the records, last time I didn't like blogging, but when I couldn't find any place to post my thoughts (regardless people read or not) then I thought I turn to this kind of thing. I think I would rather do this than other "tut" things. Well whatever it is, I got this now and I'll make it worth my "nocturnal" spirit hehehe. I'll get blogging soon enough when I'm free, now I got works to do (damn, I had to give a talk this Saturday) and I need to get my presentation prepared....
